I think that all of the dirt and rocks running through the trommel was about like sandblasting and slowly wore away at the urethane.

No, it was falling out in long ropes.

Urethane calk, like rubber, is extremely resistant to sandblasting.

I am not sure why he designed it so it needed a sealant, but urethane would be an excellent choice in that application. That's what is puzzling.

Why didn't they truck it the 2 miles an stock pile it at the other sight? Fix the problem then run the new good stuff. run the other plant 24 hrs a day to make up for lost time.
Fire Todd he is incompetent. He couldn't lead a troop of cub scouts to a fast food joint

Folks It's a reality show started by Todd ,You can't honestly believe they would spend HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIND such a small amount of gold in return .Those men aren't living on what they produce they are getting paid by Discovery and Although I think most of the time they have NO CLUE what they are doing who in their right mind would sit around and wait for months to try to make something ? it's all part of the script !

I think Todd should sit you guys down for a heart to heart chat .......thats what he is best at

As long as you accept that some of it is BS and some of it is real it's OK. Heck, Gilligan's Island was totally fake (and unbelievable) as was Knight Rider but those were fun shows too.

I like watching, and I really like the Parker Schanbel Clan and I feel they are the least fake ones in the bunch. I think the producers definitely say all kinds of truth-stretchers (like saving the Gold Nugget mine BS). You have to know that all the "investor" bs is just that...BS.

Still fun and better than about 80% of everything else on tv.

I have to wonder how anyone made money at gold mining before gold was $1700 an ounce??

   / Gold rush #227
I keep forgetting its all scripted. Thats the case why dont they have someone(Todd) win just once. Even a broken clock is right 2 times a day.
I pull for the 17or 18 year old grandson.

My guess is the Dakota Boys will do good this year.

Todds other crew can do good also if they worked together 23 hours a day in two shifts. Just a hour for a clean out and maintenance.

Makes no sense why all of Todds crew don't double up on the other claim rather than sitting doing nothing. And at the original claim seems they could run even though some of the gold is getting through, get what they can, then re-run the tailings at some point. Would beat doing nothing,. They act like once you run it through the sluice it can't be run again.

They on $6, 000 of gold out of the trommel. It probably costs more than that to run it for the week. I think parker said it cost $5, 000 a week to run his. I think next week everyone from Todds claim is at Indian river.

as of last friday, so you guys missed one but you can catch it rerun tonight probably.

There is also a show that is randomly comming on called yukon gold its a history canada show thats showing on discovery, and i think there is one called alaskan gold diggers as well.

   / Gold rush #233
Been watching them all pretty much as I find it interesting the "Gold Diggers" are a bunch of city chicks mining grandpaw's claim and not very good so far really loosing interest after 3 shows.

I find it funny that they use half an episode showing these dopes trudging and hacking their way through a "jungle"...miles (supposedly) from nowhere...and the next thing you know they have all kinds of machines and equipment on site...

I agree with that but part of the issue last nights show was the old man pops wiped out on the bike and the kid was like get up and hurry up... not very nice for all their praying they do... I think I like Parker about the best of them but the old man is pretty good too. Would be nice to see Parkers grand dad up in Klondike with him some just for his thoughts...

Why oh why would you go out into the jungle and not have the most basic maintenance supplies with you? This guy is a total idiot. There should have been a small crew in there for 3 months to set up the camp and stage equipment. Logistics is **** sure not his strong suit!

Because it makes for better "reality" TV.

I take everything in this show with a grain of salt and mostly watch for the heavy machinery and not the story!

this is fabricated drama which can get a little cheesy at times but still cool to watch. my wife thinks they are the dumbest people on the face of the earth.. haha

IMO the dumbest people are the ones that keep (by watching) the entirely scripted (SO-called) reality shows that deal with pawn shops and storage units...but then again look at most of the other shows on TV... IMO, they reflect the intelligence of the audiences...!

Anybody notice that Parker who is almost out of money has two very expensive rock trucks show up to haul overburden?

I also like the guy Marty on Mountain Men living and trapping in Alaska. They said in a good year he will make $14,000.
With that he has a home, two cabins in the woods, an airplane, snow machine, high powered rifles and all the cold weather gear!
A dollar must go much farther up there. ???

I like the Gold Diggers just because IT'S Women looking for gold instead a lard butt who can't afford a pair of scissors!
