Snowblower envy progression. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Of course I don't have the snow or the long drive to justify, but I sure do envy you anyhow.

It looks like you've got it dialed in just right!

I used the plow and loader last year...... this year, with the snowblower, it is faster, cleaner, and easier. There is no way that I would even consider a loader for snow work again. Possibly the insurance company will compensate your for your bruises and hurt with enough to pay for a snow blower. Just get the front mounted type..... the rear mounts are for the young guys with limber bodies.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Jeez, Junkman! Is there an attachment you DON'T have for your BX22? Sorry. I guess I just have attachment envy (Where's Freud when you need him?).

Great display of that BX's capabilities. Now go have yourself a big bowl of clam chowda (New England, of course).

I have had 3ph snowblowers for 15 years. And you are right no better way to move snow... aoutsight outa mind.. but I still love having the loader for other things , we have horses and I take the manure out to the compost pile , lifting things out of truck etc. Id really love a front mtd snowblower......... Ah another reason for a second tractor!!!!!!!!!! Wayne

Wow! Makes me want to move to the Northeast just so I can play in the snow.

I backed my BX in the garage, and mounted a 2x12 to the bottom of the FEL bucket so I can push snow. So far, we've gotten so little, I just use a push broom to sweep it off the drive............... BORING.

Oh well, another month and I'll be able to use my BX again.......

Take Care.

The front mounted sweeper..... but I am still looking for one. Found 2 on eBay, but the price differential wasn't enough to make the purchase. I usually like to pay about 50% of retail for used whenever possible. Anyone out there that has one that they would like to sell???? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I saw a video someone posted on another site of a garden tractor using a broom to move snow and it was doing a pretty impressive job of it! It was clearing all the way down to the pavement. He could angle it and it was throwing it out to the side a bit.
The snow looked powdery so perhaps thats why it did so good. Don't know how it would do in the wet stuff....

I'd say a broom would make keeping my 200' cedar & pine tree lined driveway cleaned up pretty good...

Wonder how proud of of them they are?

I have a walk behind broom and it works well on a inch or two of snow, but any more and it doesn't work at all. It is good for cleaning up what is left behind with the blower, but it isn't worth the effort. They are great for thatching the lawn and cleaning up the pine needles that fall in the fall. I don't know if the Kubota broom is able to be angled. A new broom cost about $1500 and you could probably get a 10% discount. The two on e Bay the people were looking for about $1000 and for $350 difference, I would rather buy new with the one year warranty. In both cases, I offered $700 but it wasn't accepted. The one thing to watch out for with a broom is how worn the bristles are. If you have to buy a new broom brush, that can get expensive quickly.
