hey men, I have been watching a PT418 on ebay all week. It closes today and looks like it will go for less than $2000. Looks like an Awesome deal to me, if anyone is interested

This is an older style 418 with what appears to be a hydraulic (instead of manual) QA... note the Kohler 18HP which means it's at least 2001 or perhaps even older. I'm guessing its a 2000 or older because of the gas tank.

2001 425s were the last ones with Kohlers, unless I'm mistaken -- the ones like Fourteen's with the larger wheel motors, higher lift, gas tanks in the hood and Kohler engines. Except for the gas tank issues, I'd view this as THE best 425 model, overall.

From the writeup, it sounds like it would be compatible with the 422, which means it be compatible with the 425.

Wow, that guy says he actually has three 422s for sale, though he doesn't provide specific details on them. Says he's moving up to PT larger machines...

That PT-418 is a pretty nice looking tractor... that paint job looks just as clean as my 2005 PT422 that has been garaged its whole life. Looks like(save for the usual last-minute shoot-out) someone is going to get a great deal. Better design then the 422 with the dual steering rams, better then the PT180 because it has the hydraulic quick-attach. Add a hydraulic cooler and fan...

It is only a 90 minute drive from me. Maybe my PT422 needs some company in the stable? Then my 5yo and I could have some tractor races.

I wish that there had been a nice used tractor like that near me in CT when I was looking for a PT back in June 2005... oh wait, there was, and KentT bought it....

Yes, if I wasn't looking forward to income tax time, it'd be tempting to add a spare to my garage also...

I feel very fortunate to have gotten the package that I did -- even if I didn't haggle with his price...

Then you could get a 29Hp liquid-cooled engine, and play around with souping up your "spare" power trac without the schedule pressure of having your PT out of service while you did the conversion....

I was bidding on the 418 and the tiller. While I was updating my bid on the tiller, I missed the end time on the 418. It sold for less than my next bid was going to be. Then the tiller went for more than I was willing to pay. Oh well, it's not like I NEEDED them...
