*That's because woods is not a kubota product but the Kubota BH is a standard feature on certain BX tractors.
I apologize for NOT being extremely specific -
Kubota DOES not offer a BACKHOE option on a BX2350.

I own the Woods BH6000 and LOVE it. There are things I like better than the Kubota unit (lever placement, operator deck) and things I don't like as much (seat rotation mechanism), but it is a VERY solid unit that I'd put scoop-for-scoop with the Kubota unit any day of the week.

The mounting mechanism may be a tad bit more finicky than the Kubota system, but it isn't bad. Just one of those things.

All told, I paid $5,500 to have the Woods unit installed. The subframe is a VERY stout unit that goes to the very front of the tractor frame, doubling the strength of the entire tractor.

As was the case when I purchased, it is unfortunate to pay more to have a BH installed later (differential between a BX2350 and BX24, for example, was about $3,500), but that's how the cookie crumbles for some of us...myself included.

Purchasing the Woods unit would certainly be less expensive than trading your tractor in on a BX24, so it is definitely the route I would go and not look back. It is a very solid unit and EXTREMELY productive.

Just this weekend, I helped a friend remove an existing Crepe Myrtle from one of his properties, transport it (600# root ball) to his house about 15 minutes away, dig a new hole, place the tree, dig MORE of a hole (for proper placement), drink a beer, and backfill the hole. Total job time start to finish? ~2 hours. Days earlier he had DUG a hole for a B&B Dogwood he had purchased...smaller root ball...and spent over 3 back-breaking hours with a digging bar JUST DIGGING THE HOLE.

I love my Hoe.

1*Also, it's particular about not having the MMM installed with the BH installed.;you've been OK with that, haven't you?

1*I don't recall seeing anything in my manual saying not to have the MMM installed with the BH installed so yes I'm just fine with that.
2*I have $3800 in my BH.
3*When I bought my BX 23 it was $15500 and the BX 2230 was $11700.
4*good testimony of why ya need a BH.

Thanks guys, I suspected it would be about $5K at least, and wondered why Kubota doesn't include a Kubota backhoe in the BX2350 instead of calling it a different model, and the BX24 can only be configured with turf or industrial tires, not bar tires.

Reading KeithinSpace's posts I'd expect open bar tires would be preferred.

From the Kubota web site:
The BX2350 runs about $13.2K
The BX24 runs about $17.2K w/ a 12" bucket.

If this is the case I suspect that the tires will nor support the theh weight capacity called for using the back hoe.

1*the BX24 is basically a BX2350 with a BH or a BX2350 is basically a BX24 without a BH.
2*They are my preference and why I'm glad I have a BX23.

Concur. I waited to purchase a BH for a variety of reasons and for those reasons, my wife was very happy to pay a premium.

If I didn't need a big mower deck and bagger (if I already owned a mower, for example, which I didn't), I probably would have sprung for the BX23 or 24 and added the mower/bagger later...the combination of which cost me $3,300 at the time.

At the time I purchased, I like the Woods unit better than the BX23 BH and I was worried about initial quality of the then VERY new BX24...a concern that ended up being validated.

But the BX24/25 are now stupendous machines and Kubota has made good on all quality issues with initial BX24s.

Just trying to give you some points that may help the decision making process. In the end, as long as you've bought a tractor, you've made the right decision! Ownership has changed my life.
