Hey, my wife's car was bought new and I never found that tow device, besides no more spare tire but a small battery powered compressor.
LOL, the compressor would be OK for slow leaks but what to do with a blow out?
Shucks pot holes* are so bad that you'd even need a spare rim as well.

*A while back my local garage was showing me about a dozen distorted and trashed rims caused by pot holes.

I was working out of a motel and a woman checked in. She was traveling from New Brunswick to Quebec in her brand new BMW when she ruined a tire going through a construction site. They had to special order it, and she was stranded halfway to her destination, for a week waiting for the tire. I wouldn't have been long trading that car.

On ruined tires/rims, my GP was quite upset when he needed a new tire.
Apparently he had a style of run flat and his replacement was , like $7/800.,
but then he drove a high end Mercedy .
