glow plug tip broke off:

New here ; first post .
1) got a 1720 NH , been super great for many years, replacing glow plugs ,and one plug, broke the heating tip off in head ; need some suggestions on removing broken tip ?.
2) been lurking on other sites ,some suggest starting it up and blowing tip out ?
3) Is this engine (shibaura N843-2-uf) a direct injection or indirect?
4) I would guess if indirect ,starting it up would do no good ,as tip would be in intake ( B4 valve) ?

Starting it and blowing it out is about the only thing you can do to avoid removing the cylinder head to get it out. The glowplug tip is in the combustion chamber, not the intake.

You might try modifying a shop vac hose to a narrow tip to fit the opening--see if you can suck it out.

POOOOOWWWW=Its out ++++ On this Shibaura N843 engine ,the Glow plug is not in the intake port, its directly above combustion chamber in a "swirl port " , so after soaking the tip( 3 days), and slightly tapping it down( 1/16") to break it loose , I started the engine after about 15 sec, pow it flew out with a good puff of kero...I had a rag over hole otherwise it might have gone thru shop insulation... thk/u. gus...
