Hi -

I rolled my B7800 1 month ago on it's left side. Had it back up on it's side within an hr. Oil level still at the full mark on the dipstick. I want to pull the glow plugs and crank it over to make sure all oil is where it should be, but wondering if anyone had a picture of where the glow plugs are? Thanks in advance

Look on the right side of your engine near the top. They look a lot like spark plugs but instead of a heavy wire and rubber boot there's usually a nut holding a terminal and a regular wire. You could also just crank it over by hand.

You are wise to take care before trying to start the tractor.

Maybe ten years ago I did not realize that the PCV tubing is the route by which crankcase oil can find its way into the cylinders, if a tractor is tipped over, due to valves being open.

I tipped my B2910 on its side over ten years ago. B7800 and B2910 are the same tractor, except for some delux features. It was on the right side. I pulled it back upright using a tree and chain block and thought the time was so short that getting significant oil past the piston rings was unlikely. I did not realize that was NOT the path of concern for oil flow into the cylinders if the tractor is on its side.

It only takes a little oil in the cylinder to cause great damage due to hydrolock, when the starter turns the engine over. Not enough to be noticed on the dip stick.

Anyway, I was lucky. But you were on the other side and the PVC route might be different. So I totally agree you should remove the glow plugs, turn the engine over and let any oil that might be in the cylinders be blown out. Might be none, but the risk is too great not to take action BEFORE turning the engine over with the starter...

You need to get a parts list so you can
find things and see how the thing is
assembled and part numbers so you
can order if you need something

On the top of the engine you will see the fuel lines going to the injectors. Next to them is a flat metal bar with nuts protruding. Per below, Item 140 are the glow plugs.

Old post but thought I would give this a try. I have a 2008 B7800HST that I am looking for a subframe for and having no luck. Any out there anyone knows of? Let me know. Thanks
