Glove Compartment 6500 4WD

Been meaning to ask this for a while. Got my 6500 last year and while it does have a glove compartment door it has nothing behind it! When I open it I can put my hand threw it and out the bottom, i.e.- it won't hold anything. Is it supposed to be this way?

That is the door to Pandora's Box, not a glove compartment.

I think I remember someone else about 2 years ago saying the same type of thing. I have an '02 6000 (6500 was not avail at that time) that actually has a "kit" in the glove box. I'm thinkin' that there may have been some extra light bulbs and a few fuses etc in it....I'll have revisit that thing...as I haven't need anything that I remember being in there since I've had the tractor. No, youre missing the bottom of the box. I think you should talk to Mahindra. Theyve left out a part.

My 6000 came with a kit of extras there but no glovebox just an opening to everything that's there.

I think maybe the first one or two 00 series tractors I sold 6 1/2 years ago had a glove box there, but since then I have never seen anything in there. I have never asked the question of Mahindra as no customers ever said anything to me about it. I'll try to remember to ask that question sometime.

Can you order the "glovebox" insert from Mahindra?

I can not find a glovebox listed in the parts break down for the 4WD models, but I do find a listing for the 2WD models. (Part# 000060372M01 listing at $23.10) I am assuming that there are shuttle shifting linkages in there, on the 4WD models, that don't allow room for the glove box. That is just my assumption.

I have the 5500 FWD and it dont have one either, all that is behind mind is electrial stuff, but i dont use it or miss it as a glove box.

hi i took delivery of a 5500fwd 3 weeks ago and i have the same compartment. mine has spare lamps for the headlihgt and turn indicators. sounds like you got jipped

Ty at Carraway Tractor where I bought the tractor read the thread- sent me a direct email and immediately sent me the zippered package with the fuses, bulbs, etc with an apology. I got the package today. Thanks Ty for the quick response.

Heck, I'll have to ask my dealer. My glove box was empty when I got the tractor.

My 6500 was advertised as having the glove box...however...all that is there is an access door - no bottom.

I also did not receive any kinda kit. It took some time, but I now realize that my dealer did not do a good job of checking it over before delivering it to me. I lost improperly installed "e" clips. (Got charged for new ones!) There were many loose bolts. The big thing turned out to be improper timing, which according to what I read is supposed to also be checked by the dealer.
