I have never seen them in a flock (or even a pair). Up here they are solitary, hanging around the dock or in the shallows. Thanks for sharing the pics.

What are they?
The legs are too long for geese.
They are not in a V formation or organized pattern.
There wings do not look like geese.
They look like giant shore birds.
Cranes? Herons?

I was thinking they were blue herons, but that is probably wrong.

Nice Pics, Were seeing quite a few more of them in Mn the last few years and I have a few that frequent my food plots, they are fun to watch and you can here them from quite a distance.

Those are Sandhill Cranes, that's the most I've seen in one flock around here although I see them this time of year and in the spring heading back north. On the news, there is a bunch of Whooping cranes going through here, that was yesterday also, just a little east of here, sure would have liked to have seen them, led by an Ultra-Lite on their way to Fl. for the winter.
