Hello all. I just joined the forum to get help with issues and to help others when I can.
I recently purchased a Craftsman GT6000 with an 18HP Kohler Magnum engine that didn't run. It originally had a 20 HP Kohler Magnum that seized up while running and they switched it for the 18 that came from another tractor with a bad transaxle. It came with 44 & 50 inch mower decks and a snowblower which is like new. I also got the old donor tractor.
I had it running the first evening (2 weeks ago now) but couldn't start it with the key. After replacing the fuel lines and filters, cleaning out the rodent nest in the engine under the sheetmetal and clearing the cooling fins of debris I have it running well and am getting hooked on these things.
I want to rebuild the original 20 HP and have never had a Kohler before so I don't know what to expect, so hopefully you folks can assist and guide me.
