BTW despite appearances, I am NOT having fun with a new toy! I'm working my a** off using a necessary tool. That huge grin is because I just thought of something very funny. That my story and I'm sticking to it.

Since you got your tractor that line must have worked on the wife, it'll be a little harder to sell here, lol. Isn't it nice to just be able to dig a hole when needed? You should try to get a feeling for what your soil is like and if you want a 24" or 18" second bucket. I don't think you'll really get enough use out of them if you got all three.

That line doesn't work on my wife either. She says if I don't quit smiling so much, she's going to rent me out with the tractor to the neighbors till I do. It may take a while :)

Exactly! I dug a small drainage swale to stop the erosion of the lower section of our construction driveway in way less time than we took to just talk about it before we got the tractor:) It rained hard for a little while yesterday. It was very satisfying to see that swale diverting the water out of the driveway ditch and into the grasslands where it could fan out, slow down and sink in.

I agree. I'm only planning to get one more BH bucket -- either an 18 or 24". I just don't know which yet. I'm in no hurry. This little 12" bucket is doing just fine for now.

Sounds like a decent plan to me. Have a blast! :)

When I first got my BH it was early winter so I couldn't do any digging. When the ground was almost thawed out I dug up a maple stump. It was a group of about 5 2" to 3" diameter trees that had been cut several years ago. It only took about two minutes and it was out and filled in. The feeling of how easy it was yet it would have taken all day by hand left me wanting more. Four years later I play more in the dirt more now than when I was a kid, lol.

I swapped* out the Rhino BX66 box blade for a BX72. As a bonus the BX72 is Kubota orange. The BX66 was just too narrow to cover the tracks of the GL3240 with R4s. Even the BX72 is only an inch or so wider than the R4s. FWIW I'm still happy I got the 66" HD bucket. But matching the BB to the bucket was a bad idea now fixed.

I had some good runs with the BX72 on the driveway yesterday & today. The road base had set up like concrete due to getting soaked before I could finish smoothing and crowning it. The GL3240 and BX72 took it in stride. I may need to add weight to the BX72 to get it to dig in more when "floating". The GL3240's 3 point adjustments are really nice -- Not a TnT, but much better than the 3 point that was on the L39 I rented.

Just ticked over 20hrs, a little behind schedule ;)

* I hadn't used the BX66 yet. So the dealer let me exchange the BX66 (+ some cash) for the BX72.
