I would have thought it would have been tongue heavy???

It is tongue heavy, you can see when you zoom in.

Single axle trailer + light front of tow rig, would definitly contribute to the wagging effect. Should of at least slowed down, probably no brakes as well?

He would really be in trouble if he had to stop in a hurry

I saw a good one the other day at Lowes, this little spanish woman was getting sheetrock with a tiny pick up, not sure what make but she had the loaders stack it as high as the top of the cab, it wouldn't fit in the bed so it was up on the sides. she put one STRING over it from wheel well to wheel well and drove off, as you could easily imagine the was truck dragging under the load. I couldn't believe it, was thinking after it would of been a good picture to share here

He should have put that old Ford on the trailer and pulled it with the Jeep. :D

Come on.....driving a Ford. He was probably scared by all that extra HP and torque. Was it a 4x4 with the heavy duty towing package ? Standard or automatic? What class hitch ? WD bars? What brand brake controller was it using?

Ya, It's ashame the guy just didn't have as good of equipment as you did.
Probably doesn't have as good of job as you, hence the shoddy stuff.

What does this mean? You know nothing at all about me so do not assume. I work hard long days for what I have. 2 jobs at that plus stuff on the side weekly so what I have I earned.

All I can say is WOW.

Not to hijack your thread, but I seen a similar situation on my way home from work the other night going up I-71 just north of columbus.

It was about a 24' goosneck trailer with dual tandems. I dont know much about heavy trailers, maybe a 21k rating????

Anyway, it had a FULL sized tandem axle day cab semi on it. I am not sure what them weigh, maybe 18-20k???? It was ALL the way at the back of the trailer. The rear axle wasnt even touching the deck as it was over the dovetail. And the truck was STILL squating pretty good. Mainly because it was only a F-250:confused2: Truck and trailer was probabally easially 25k lbs. And he was running between 65-70MPH to boot:confused2:

Again, I am no expert and dont know the weights for sure, but I would be willing to wager a bet that he was a good bit over his limit.

I was on my way to work one morning early. I was on Indiana 67, a 4 lane 60 mph road. As I rounded a bend I saw what looked to be a semi with trailer tailgating a older Dually Ford. They were doing about 55mph. As I passed I soon realized the Dually was pulling him with a short 15' chain.

I have pulled fully loaded semis out of snow banks, mud, ect with my diesels but that was at 3mph in 4 low, not 55mph on the highway.

Ya, out here it is 55mph towing limit. Stinks... Except so many California roads are marginal, might not want to go faster

Sounds like Markcuda is being a smart a**, what he and the person that was towing in the pic on the first post is, thats how people get hurt and killed from other people stupiditity. If he hit a vehicle that had a family and kids in it, is that a good enough excuss for not having good enough equipment and a job, didnt think so. He could of called a tow truck, that would been many times cheaper than getting in an accident. If he was in an accident, a Lawyer would of had a field day with that.

I lived in Texas for over two years and saw folks tow some crazy, heavy stuff with 1/2 ton trucks. The one that took the cake was a Ford F-150 pulling a 5th wheel camper AND A bass boat behind the camper going south down 35W. I know. No pic and it didn't happen. Wish I had a camera phone back then instead of the stupid Nextel. I was in shock. Is that even legal:confused:.

Isn't it at least possible that the trailer is adequate?
