2005 Kubota L 3400 4 WD Hst with front loader and 6 ft Bushhog. Post hole digger. Recent sevice. 70 Hrs. one owner 14K

I had been looking at a John Deere 3520 with the same implements & new it was $21K so I think this is a good deal but I've heard that Kubotas are less expensive than JDs. Hubby says it's a good deal.

Any comments? Things to beware of? Owner says he bought it new & it never left his property, was kept under pole barn but not enclosed garage. Just serviced in late Novemeber. I saw the hour meter it said 68.9

It sounds like a very good deal. In fact, it sounds like they are giving it away. I'm not sure if it's cheap enough for the red flags to go up, but it's definitely priced to move.

With Kubota, you are buying the top of the line. Others may argue their brand is as good as Kubota, but in that argument, they admit that Kubota is the standard that all the other brands are competing against. They set the standard.

Good luck,
Eddie

Well that is a deal. Two years ago I paid $12.6 K for a naked L2800 HST-F. The only problem I am aware of with the L2800/L3400 series is the 3pt control valve is jerky and not smooth. Kubota has changed the valves out and the current one is okay, but not as smooth as others. Kinda 1/4th inching. Try hooking a heavy implement to the rear and raising it smoothly. If it is VERY jerky you have the old valve, if it is a little jerky you have the new valve. There is another thread on this in the Kubota owning part of the forum.

Overall that is a great tractor for the money, just check the 3 point raising smoothness. If it is the old valve I might have to negotiate, or walk. Oh, I just remembered the post in the other section has the L3400 serial numbers broken out for good valve, bad valve.

Just make sure there's no lien on it; sounds like a great deal

A near by dealer is selling an L2800 with a back hoe for 14.500 and it has 500hrs. I would say that is a good deal even IF (!) you have to get the 3ph control valve replaced.

The only caution about the L3400 is that the 3 point hitch may be jerky. Some of them had a newer valve that is smoother. If you not going to use a post hole digger, or do grading with a rear implement it is probably no big deal.

Otherwise it sounds lik a good deal to me.

I agree with what everyone else has said so far. Find out why there are selling it, and if they are the original Owner. If you give me the serial # - I'll verify any info you need!!!
