FAKE: can we spell PHOTOSHOP on that one.
I have killed three of them that persisted in digging their holes next to my sidewalk steps and throwing piles of dirt out. I used a hose to wash them out and just stomped on them. I wouldn't worry about them out in the yard, but NOOO, they have to get right next to my sidewalk and throw cup full's of dirt out on to it. I have no reason to fear cicadas either.

Those kinds of wasps are your friends.
They don't usually sting people.
They're solitary, not group nests, so you'll only encounter them one at a time.
They kill cicadas, which like to feed on your orchard trees and other plants by the roots where you can't see them.

Actually they are very real, just not native to north America, these are the Giant Japanize hornets. They can be deadly when disturbed and as a matter of fact, a small group of less than 30 can wipe out an entire honey bee colony of 30,000. they will sever the heads of the honey bees and then eat the larvae.

Here is a link to the google image search for many more giant Japanize hornet images. And as an outdoor photographer I am very familiar with the program, but do not believe in altering an image from any other way than what it was perceived. (Except for the woodtick tale..LOL)
