Hi All,

I have used plantskydd for years and it does a pretty good job to keep the deer away from the veggies. Unfortunately it tends to attract predatory and scavenger animals. sometimes they dig up the stuff I plant.

I thought I would try and make some Ghost pepper tea and spray that on my plants. I'm thinking it should keep everything away. I had some ground up ghost pepper that I put in a strainer and ran hot water through it.
I then put it in a hand sprayer and applied it. It's pretty potent stuff. I'm thinking that the oil in the pepper will keep it from washing away to soon.

On a side note, the only thing I have found to get ghost pepper oil off my hands is Gojo or something similar. Dawn dishwashing liquid just don't work.

Try doing your prep with rubber gloves. I learned that the hard way; cleaning Jalapenos. A quick trip to the bathroom and I learned my lesson...you might say it was burned into my loins. I am also very pragmatic; it Gojo works, use it!

I had the same "enlightening" experience while cutting Chili & Jalapeno peppers. My nose itched - I rubbed - I suffered.

When I was young and in my prime - we would go to a local burger outlet in Anchorage - Arctic Roadrunner. The idea being - how many Jalapeno peppers can you eat with your burger. MANY an afternoon I spent in digestive agony. BUT none of us ever complained about this misery.

We always followed up with a bowl of ice cream. You could hear us later in the bathroom muttering "Come on ice cream!".

I have had a few nibbles but not bad. Not even sure the pepper I used is ghost. I did not grow it.

:ROFLMAO:  :D That is almost word for word what a man I worked for said to me after he had preserved some Jalapenos. Well, he had more descriptive words but TBN is a family friendly website. :ROFLMAO:

Once upon a time, I worked with one of the most obnoxious, rude, arrogant, spoiled know it all I have ever had the displeasure to know. We worked with a guy from India and the Obnoxious One was bragging, for days, how he loved hot, spicy food. He just would not shut up about how he could out eat anyone with hot spicy food.:unsure:

Eventually, we had enough of the Obnoxious One's bragging, and when he made a bet about eating hot spicy foods, we took it.

We went to a local Thai restaurant for lunch and we ordered the HOTTEST food they could make. The waitress, who was Thai, asked us numerous times in her wonderful Thai accent, if we REALLY wanted the hottest food they could make? We said yes.

The food came. We ate. We sweated. We drank lots of water. We drank lots of tea. We suffered. The first person to drop out of the "contest" was the guy from India! :eek:o_O:mad: Right after the Indian guy stopped eating Obnoxious One dropped out. I figured he felt if the Indian could not eat the food, Obnoxious One would not loose face by stopping. I kept going until my plate was clean just to shut up that Obnoxious a....s. :ROFLMAO:

Obnoxious One had to buy us lunch, which was the deal if he did not keep eating after the Indian guy or I had stopped eating. I certainly "paid" for eating the hot food, it was physically very painful, but I "won" and shut up the Obnoxious One. However, I think the Indian guy is the one who really won. He got a free meal, did not suffer TOOO much, got to watch Obnoxious One loose, and me "win." :ROFLMAO::unsure::eek::LOL:

The Thai waitress was entertained but I think she thought we were idiots. :ROFLMAO: Me thinks she was more right than wrong. :D

I love Thai and Korean hot and spicy foods. Not the hot to burn your lips, but the heat that sweats you from the top of your head down to your toes. Great stuff.

Loved reading the Obnoxious One story. LOL

Since coivd, many of the Thai family places closed shop in my area. I'm really bummed. They were really priced reasonably too.

Be careful! Read this story and take heed:

I worked with a WWII vet from Albuquerque. His name was Trujillo. He told me he had spent most of the war overseas, and had not had a good hot Mexican dinner in all that time, so when he had shore leave in Houston, he went to a Mexican restaurant there and ordered the biggest and hottest meal they had. His description was much like the one above, but he finished it. When he hadn't experienced a BM in about a week, he went to the doctor, who said he had locked his bowels with the hot meal and he needed surgery.

He said he checked into the hospital, and his grandmother was there at the time; so he asked her what they used to do in the olden days, and she said castor oil...so he had his family bring him a bottle. He told me he drank a water glass full. The rest of the story is very graphic, including a lot of blood and stuff, but he had a movement and avoided the surgery.
