Re: Getting rid of *&%#@#% moles

I have perenially mole problems. I've tried the metal kill traps (useless), and several different commercial grade poisons to some effect. I've found the most success with the smoke bombs. When i use the smoke bombs, i use several of them simultaneously, like 5 or 6 of them scattered throughout my kill zone. Try it.

I'm still fond of this. Dunno if it works, but at least it is entertaining. :D

I have a 2007 model Jack Russell Terrier. She works great on moles. Also on small rabbits, mice, rats, and anything else she can find.

Not good with skunks, though. Nope. Wouldn't recommend the skunk thing. :D

You may laugh at this, but an easy way to get rid of moles...get Juicy Fruit Gum...chew a 1/2 stick a bit....just so it is pliable, and still has lots of flavor....throw the partially chewed piece in the hole....The mole eats it, but cannot digest it.
It worked tremendously for us.

Cats will rid moles as well.

I've had no apparent luck with gum.

I've had success with traps (six steel spikes that are spring loaded) but a lot of work to tend to the traps and sometimes the moles are just too deep, with the poison pellets, and with the poison worms.
But nothing that is consistently successful all the time.
Today I tried the grub poison treatment, and will test that. Tomorrow I will take the heavy lawn roller and roll everything out flat and see what my success ratio is with the grub killer.

The cats were adopted by surrounding farmers and their families.

We wish you success with the mole problem....In our experience, using the gum helped tremdously. It only took one spring to rid most of the moles. Our plants no longer are dying because the roots have been eaten. Before treatment, our azeala bushes were just losing leaves and turning brown. We could literally pick pull them up with no effort at all and see there was nothing there to hold the plant in the ground. What a difference it has been around here. Azaleas are beautiful, and healthy as well as the other plants. Also, we rarely see a mole hole. Please let us know how this works for you.

I tried the insecticide that's supposed to get rid of grubs, I tried the trap, I tried the gopher/mole repellent, and even Harbor Freight's windmill that's supposed to run them off, so now I'm trying the juicy fruit gum.

Hey I like the Molenator idea, the cost is s little steep... Maybe i'll use my MAp torch and inject some gas into the ground? I thought you could put the running small gasoline exhaust pipe into the ground and do them in?

I looked and looked, and found a guy who said to save your money and just patiently hunt 'em. I mashed spots as they came up (to narrow down a 'home range'), and soon heard him munching. I had 2 tools ready, one to block the exit and one to get the job done. Messy, but problem solved!

Starting Fluid.

4 seconds into the tunnel, 2 seconds for a runner to give you a safety cushion. Barbecue lighter. Shovel to stomp.
