Getting ready to seriously consider a used KX121-3 or KX040

I considered an excavator for general farm use but went with a Backhoe instead. I don't do any big digs and after renting one, I realized how much they tear up the sod and how slow they are to move from one spot to another. Having said that, Kubota makes good excavators and they are a very effective digger.

I've bounced back and fourth in my mind between the excavator / backhoe. I thought about a used M59 as well. Definately pros and cons. It'll be a general farm use machine. On the plus side to a backhoe, if got one, I'd probably sell the Ford 3930 MFWD with loader, which would off set the cost a bit.

Ahearn equipment in Spencer Ma has a 2007 cab KX121-3 listed at 38k.

I have purchased several pieces of equipment from them. Always happy with their customer service.

Thank you, I'll keep them in mind and maybe take a look. I noticed you have an M59, how do you like it? What do you mainly use it for?

Most versatile machine we have. Clearing, stacking loading manure. Backhoe work...stumps,drainage, burial of horses, grading arenas(rear blade w/hydraulic grade control), digging post holes with hoe mounted hydraulic post hole dogger, chipping with 9" chipper, to clear and maintain wood lots. clearing brush with FEL mounted grapple, plowing with 8' v plow, clearing field boarders with 84" flail shredder. I wouldn't part with this machine. More uses for FEL forks than I can mention..

I found a 2012 KX121 with 600+ hrs with a 6 way blade, heat/ac and Kubota hydraulic thumb. I've got him down to $40k from $44k. It's a one owner machine, looks great in pics. I haven't seen it in person yet, but the seller sent me a bunch of pictures. Any idea what the machine would have listed at new? What are your thoughts? Things to look for upon inspection etc?

Did you get to look at it? It might still be worth pursuing if they have to sell it.

They still owe money on the machine to Kubota and the other partner is now getting funny as far as price saying he wants to get a price from his local dealer as to what they'd give for it. I haven't been to see it. I looked at a bunch of pictures of it.
