Getting ready to order 2520

I'm surprised about the deletion of the 3-pt brackets from the drive-over decks. I would think the benefit (advertising-wise) far outweighs the token additional cost of material. It'd be a huge draw for me to pony up for the mid-mount, if I didn't already own an X324.

I'm surprised too. From owning one, the only thing I can speculate that would cause Deere to eliminate the Stow 'n Go feature would be a safety issue. It's very tempting to simply pick up the deck with the 3pt and get under it to change the blades. But it's also a real problem if the 3pt suddenly drops and the 300+ pound deck comes down on top of you. Otherwise, it's a useful feature and certainly adds value to the deck.

OK I hear ya and it makes sense, I will press the dealer on changing the rear wheels. Can you give me a feel for how much wider the stance become when this is done? With a 72" deck and 61" bucket I cant see that the extra width would matter all that much and I can really appreciate the added stablity not to mention what a PITA it would be to do after the fact.

Thanks again, great forum here. Getting this advice from you guys has been very helpful, though I think I am beginning to anoy the dealer... oh well

J Levine,

Better for the dealer to be annoyed now than you to be annoyed later.:D

Also looking at JD 2520, priced tractor, 200cx FEL, 53" bucket, 62" MMM - $19,500, before Feb 1, was also $600 credit available, so $18,900, now there is $1000 cash, so price is $18,500. But will be pricing JD 1026R later this week, want a backhoe for small jobs,
Prices were without any taxes added. Also 0% for 60 months was available, that I believe was extended into Feb.

I talked to the JD dealer today and he didn't know anything about the $1000 on JD equipment? Where did you see that at?

The $1000 is for 2320 or 2520 only. Check out the "Green Fever" link at deere.com.

And another thing... if your dealer didn't know about it, that's good - because the $1000 discount isn't off his/her back, but rather Deere itself.

For what it's worth, I went in today, bought the exact same model and options as you (2011 model 2520, 200CX 61" FEL, 72" mower deck). $18,500 including the buydown for 0%/60mo and the are eating the $300 documentation fee. Nothing in the tires though, but I wouldn't think that would be ~$2500 either.

For those advocating the iHitch and ballast box...is it too late to wrap it into the financing? I know they had to order the tractor so I suppose it isn't too late.

Thanks everyone!
