After reading the various post when we do go to whole house air cooled is not going to get it. I don't want to be down in the warm south have an ice storm and have to send someone to check the oil everyday in my generator. Kind of defeats the point of having all the wireless monitoring gadgets. Also when we get older, what am i going to do send the home heath aid out to check the oil in the generator after she is done checking my blood pressure. I want to be able to sit in sunny wherever, monitor everything on my phone and not have to touch anything. Not have to worry about checking the oil or running out of propane in a week. That is not going to be easy to do. Wireless thermostats on everything, battery back up on the wireless hot spots, battery back up on the routers. Don't want to loose connection when it switches over or when power comes back on if it is out for just a short while.
When i was younger and my boys where home i could make them drag the generator fill the gas follow the instruction on what to turn on or off. if one was gone I suppose i could make them do it, but that ain't going to work if they can't get here.
Bit of a rant.
The oil checking on the air cooled generators was a rather expensive eye opener. pretty much doubled what i though I was going to spend.
