Well, the dealer came to get my 5525 today. I am adding a 542 SL with trash grapple. They have to put the 3rd valve on it and they got me the 542 with the accumlator on the main cylinder. I forget the name of the feature, but it makes it ride smoother.

I am hoping to have it back Friday. I have hundreds of down trees, etc that I need to move. Doing it from a cab with a trash grapple seems like the ticket.

I'll post pics as soon as I have them ready!

What exactly is the accumulator for?

It cushions the up and down motion of the main cylinders. I saw a demo of two loaders hauling round bales. The one without it had the front wheels bouncing off the ground. The other one was smooth - neat stuff.

I will have to find the quote. It was $8800 for the loader, adding 3rd valve, accumlator, labor, etc. $2200 seems to stick in my head on the grapple. I'll dig up the quote here somewhere.

The loader control lever is attached to the dscv by cables. How does this compare to a lever which is directly attached to the valve? Do the cables have any play or can you detect slippage when you move the loader control lever?

The cables work really nice. I can't tell much difference than my 4720. One would have a hard time telling the difference. Now, I wonder how it will feel in 5 yrs. I wonder if I can lube the cables.

We just got a 2" rain or else I would be out moving trees!

Really nice setup D.

I think your 4720 is going to get jealous.... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Just like me!

Thanks for posting the pic's.

Well, it looks like the grapple will fit on the 4720. I just need the hyradulics to support the 3rd cylinder.

Of course, a 4720 cab would be nice!

The price on the trash grapple (BW15272) was $2,272.

I am glad I got it. It was only like $500 and it really makes a difference.

I might find myself using my 5525 with LSS to move hay bales all the time instead of my 4720 without LSS.

I've got the cabless 4720 and I love it, but the 5525 w/cab is my dream rig.....Great looking tractor.
