Hi, folks, I have a B6100, 4WD it is a wonderful little tractor, i grow lotsa vegies, on not much more than an acre, and also a bit around the home block.
I hope to keep this tractor going till i die, - probably 20 or so years from now if I am lucky, it doesn't compress the soil very much, works real hard and is very economical, so just perfect.
Having read some of he posts about the cost of rebuilding the engine I hope I don't get that situation, - I knew it was a worn engine when I bought it but the application of a couple of these engine enhancement products seem to have fixed everything.
I have started to think about replacing the engine with an electric one if things go dreadful in that department as most of my usage is on a new bed, - I have a ride on for the grass, so I do some ripping, then I make the boundary then I have made this simple triangle thing to make the paths, which I also use around the hoouse as that is what I use for the paths - so a couple of sessions of 20 mins, max 1 hour I think electric could be OK.
One day I might find a rotary hoe attachment for my B6100, that would be tempting, - currently use a husqvarna petrol unit that has contra rotating blades and that is so cool. So I guess that is my picture, growing lots of Taros and such, using the ride on to control the grass ie on paths, using the tractor to rip and make the edge (a dip) so the ride-on can stop the path grass getting into the bed, after the ripping using the rotary hoe to mix in the compost lime blood and bone etc, and the the tractor to make the paths with the special tool that is exactly the width of the rotary hoe so the rotary hoe can be used to weed the paths if the hay has all rotted.
Happens very fast in the wet tropics.
Also have a slasher for the tractor for when the ride-on dies.
Whatever, I have a problem so getting over to that section, but glad to meet you all and happy to help if I can also
Cheers,
Geoff.
