I have a 14GN Big Tex Trailer. It has not been my favorite trailer. But it does what a trailer does.

I have worn out the coupler with more then 300K miles on the trailer and I was wondering if anyone has installed a Gen-Y or Shocker hitch on their goose neck. They are kind of pricey at the $1000 mark vs a standard coupler for $120 to $300 or more.

Second hand stories or rumors are welcome.

I thank you in advance

Make sure you measure the current tube. These add several inches of length and you may not have enough adjustment left. I know I didn't. Saw a youtuber that had this issue when searching for reviews, so I checked before proceeding.

I’ve got the 30k rated Shocker on my 25k tandem dual GN , smooths the pull out a lot. I run about 30-35psi in the air chamber when pulling heavy , works great. I’m not familiar with the gen y

I have a shocker hitch on my 32' gooseneck. Admittedly, I've never pulled the trailer without it, but everyone who rides in my truck remarks at how incredibly smooth it is loaded or empty. I run about 40-45psi in the bag.

300K miles on the trailer and I'm wondering why you would drift away from what has obviously been working for you.
