I was doing some light plowing yesterday and when I got finished for some reason my gearshift seems to be stuck in first gear I cannot move it out into second third or fourth does anyone have any idea why this may be stuck? The 4WD, Shuttle Lever and Range Gear Lever all seem to work fine, it's just the Main Gear Shift Lever that is stuck/won't shift?

Any ideas? I hope like **** I didn't overwork the transmission while plowing!!

Take the tractor out of 4WD. Do this on a slight incline. Let the tractor roll backwards ten feet or so. Now try shifting......

Yep. Move it back and fourth, forward and reverse. Gotta take the pressure off the gears. It should pop out. Happened to be once while I was on a steep incline. I just backed up a bit and it popped out. Nothing to worry about... unless this doesnt work.

On my M4700 it's gotten "stuck" twice. Both times I had to get under it and apply a sharp but light quick force administered by a small hammer against the gear linkages.
