I have a '02 L3710 D with a 100 hours. This tractor is new to me and I notice what appears to be gear whine. (all gears forward and reverse) It is more pronounced when the oil is warm. Is this normal for a Kubota with a manual trans and shuttle. Otherwise the tractor performs well. Any input would be appreciated.

My B2400 has the hydro trans and I notice a gear whine with it also. The ROPS seems to act like a tuning fork and magnify the sound. Anything that transmits power thru straight cut gears will have a pronounced gear whine to it. If you've ever driven anything with the old Muncie M22 "Rockcrusher" 4-speed trans you'll know what I mean!

Thanks for the reply. I have had two JD's and never noticed that much whine if any. Are their gears set differently? This sure is a useful forum.
Thanks again

I have a 01 L3000DT and it has a fair amount of gear noise, more than the 8N I had did. I have just about got accustomed to the noise now every once in a while I notice it.
