GC2610 TLB and Snow

Anybody using a 24/2600 series TLB for snow removal? What tires do you have if so and do you find chains necessary, or does it do pretty well with the weight of the backhoe only? My dad has a BX25 with loader only and that thing does pretty well without chains and R4s without any added weight on the back.

R4s will be fine for pushing snow around. It is for me.

I've used my GC2610TLB for a few years now to push snow from my driveway and paths through the woods. I have R4 tires and have never needed to use chains. Basically, the power and traction are more than adequate to move 1-2 feet of snow (and even more in the woods) but the bucket fills up very quickly - like after about 10 feet; still, I just keep pushing and it gets cleared. That being said, my neighbour has a blade on his Gator and I am constantly surprised how much faster he finishes than me. I suppose a blade would be a good investment for the long winters here. To finalise, the machine can easily do snow removal but it will take a bit more time due to the small bucket size.

My GC2400 has turf tire and I have no problem moving snow with my FEL and box blade.

Thanks all for the responses. I was thinking that it should do fine as is. As to how fast it can be done with a Gator, I can see that it would be faster... to a point. If the snow ever gets higher than the Gator the neighbor may be coming over to ask for help finding the Gator.

I push a 6' plow with turfs, no chains, on gravel.

It would plow most average snow falls even in 2 wd. Put it in 4wd, and it's amazing what it will push.

It's the weight of the backhoe that makes it effective.

No backhoe for me but my R4 are filled with Rimguard. I use my loader to "plow" my 500 foot driveway plus the front of a 3 car garage. I like to see how high I can pile the snow up. LOL

I own a Gator and it will go until it rides up on the snow then you are stuck. Never tried to push snow with a Gator. A push blade would probably keep the drive area clear of snow.

For my part , I use a 60" back snow blower , much more efficient at clearing snow than the fel.
My GC2610 is on R4,never had a traction problem

I have the GC2410, does very well with the BH on it, push until you cant anymore then you use the loader to move the snow bank. I have turf tiers, the only problem is when moving snow and backing up I sometimes forget how long the machine is with the loader and BH so I have little accidents
