I have mower deck and bagging system that i use often, but still use my loader and backhoe just as much. So I tend to take the backhoe off and on alot. The last time I went to reinstall my backhoe I had a hard time getting one of the locking pins to line up. When I looked closer noticed that the slot on the back hoe has woredown so it sits lower and the pin is a a hair off. I had to take a rubber malet to get the pin to set. Is this common problem with backhoe removal and install. Thanks Ray.......

I haven't seen that, Ray, but I do know that even a tiny bit of dirt, sand, or rust in the "pocket" the lower BH pins ride in can make installation difficult.... are they both clean?

I change my stuff out alot, I invested in a "Pats quick change" system. Its like cheating its so easy to change stuff out now. I strongly advise it. You could always grind a taper on end of pins so it would be easier to drive them in.

New member here. The Pat's system is great for 3 pt attachments but be careful mounting a backhoe on the 3 pt. of your MF tractor. It will void the warranty.

I have had to beat the pins in since new, I have close to 600hrs. and still have to help the pins in. The saddles have to be clean or the pins on mine will not go. I was going to run a reamer threw the pin holes but I perfer a tight fit:thumbsup:.

The Pat's system will not help at all with this backhoe. The backhoe uses a dedicated system.

I have not heard of a problem with the mount getting elongated, and I don't see how it could happen.

I did have to beat one of my mounts with a 10 lb. sledge hammer when it was new, because it was not aligned properly from the factory.

I'll bet they made this one misaligned, and you didn't notice it before.

I think the only fix for you, would be building it up with a welder.

That's what she said...

The pins on my My 2008 GC2410 have always been very easy to install/remove.

Same thing with the seat, when everything is aligned properly, it all works great.

the only time i ever had trouble there was just the slightest bit of compacted clay in one of the bottom pockets, removed it and everything went back to normal... no hammer necessary.i think that if you have to grab a hammer and beat on something on one of those tractors, maybe you should hit your head before anything else.:D

far as the seat goes, i always spin mine from the side opposite the loader controls... usually takes about 2 or 3 seconds... easy peasy:)

Mine has always been easy to take the pins in or out, but one side has a slight grove now , the small weld idea might be a option, will double check for dirt build up first, thanks for the input...........

Congratulations on having one where everything works and fit well from the get go.

It is very ignorant of you to suggest that you know how well every part of every one of these tractors fit when it was made, based on your experience.

I spent my life, and made a good living, repairing vehicles after they have been damaged. So sorry, I do know when something fits and works properly, and when it doesn't. And, I also know how to fix it, which I did.

i prefer to give my head a shake before grabbing a hammer, of course it took me a few decades to figure that out... guess i'm not the only one.

Mine was difficult to come off-being the first time I had done so in a year and a half. When I put it back on I am going to dab some grease in the cradle to see if this helps.

As for the seat-you just need to find a way to turn it around without fighting it. I learned the more you fight it the harder it is to turn around. There is a way to do this without using any force.

As I recall I unhook the seat bracket and raise it up as is. When its as high as it till be ifor the BH position-then turn the seat 180 degrees. Then push it towards the BH side and latch it in.

Some of you don't seem to realize that all these tractors are not exactly the same.

As I said, if it is properly aligned, it works great. If not, you can do what ever dance you want with it, there is no way to latch it, with using force. Ask anyone who has one that is misaligned.

After I adjusted mine, it went from difficult to working like a dream.

So you guys with the backhoes I was wondering if any of you guys use Pats quick hitch, and if they can stay on while you install backhoe? Thanks

I would not count on that, there is very little space.

It's hard to get the three point arms back in there to start with.

I have them on my 2310, I removed the rear metal piece between the fenders to get enough clearance .

later I removed the rear lip on the backhoe foot rest area to keep the bolts on the pats from snagging .
if you keep the bolts as short as possible . you my not have to do that to the foot rest.
I did it because they snagged while I was removing the hoe at a job. and couldn't run around for shorter bolts to prevent it from happening
again.
it's very tight .but will fit.
