Is there a trick to getting the pins out? I have a very hard time getting the weight shifted just right to get them to slide out.

I don't know about the BH but I have some experience with the FEL.

After lifting the Loader up and dropping the "legs", drop the FEL to the ground (Note: I cut a piece of 2x8 for the legs to set on so I just pull up to it). Tilt the bucket until the weight is off the pins and pull them. The rest is easy enough. Just try not to stretch the hyd. hoses.

I am sure someone will come through with the BH.

BTW: I mention setting the "legs" because my brother got a tractor the same time as I. When we talked about removing the FEL he said he had problems and used another tractor to assist in lifting the FEL off. I asked him if he put the supports down and he didn't know what I was talking about. Next time I saw him he said things went better the next time he removed the FEL. (Manual...We don't need no stinkin' manual)

Which pins are you speaking of, the Backhoe or the loader?

Both the loader and the BH. I put the legs down and supported the weight with the bucket. Same idea for both ends, the pins bind in the holes.

For the FEL, tilt the bucket to the spot that the pressure is off the pins. It is there somewhere.

The backhoe will need the legs and the boom up normally. If it still binds you can stretch out the boom. Usually that will take enough pressure off of the pins that they will come out. Once in a while, there will be a side to side bind, if there is you may need to pressure down one leg or the other to off set the bind. Try it both ways, everything up or leg to leg to see which way works best with your tractor. What I have described above is what I have observed from the small removable backhoes that I have either owned or worked on.
