Backhoe GC2310 backhoe

The swing piston on backhoe has some play in it, it takes grease fine. Is this normal? The machine has about 120 hours on it, about 1/4 of that is backhoe use. Also is there a guard for the stablizer pistons, I'm worried that rocks, debris from piles is going to damage the finish on the cylinder. Could you mount pistons the opposite way so the cylinder wouldn't get damaged. My wife says the park brake doesn't hold on slopes, is there a way to adjust it or should I let dealer handle it. They all loosen up after a few hours of use. If you have always greased it the way the manual says to, there should be no play from wear yet.

I have dropped rocks that I couldn't pick up by hand on my stabilizer rods. They don't have any dents or scratches on them. There is no factory guard. Even though mine aren't damaged it would be nice to have shields, but they would have to be made. If you switch ends on the cylinders, you will have a problem with the hoses. They will be out in the way and more than likely the fittings on the hoses will get broken. I have broken more than one of those fitting.

I don't know if the GCs brakes are like the larger compacts or not. If they are all you have to do is adjust the rod on both sides. The best way to get the braking even is to lift the side that you are adjusting up off the ground with the backhoe. Then I always spin the wheel and adjust the rod until the wheel drags. Then I back it off a 1/4 turn. That gets them really close.
