Tractor
GC2300
I was impressed with the size of rock the GC2300 was able to pick up. So I took a few picture just in case anyone else wonders.

The hydraulics creep quite a bit. Perhaps every minute I had to adjust the tilt on the bucket, and every 3 or 4 minutes, had to lift the arms again. Is that normal for this tractor (I'm new to it). Same for 3 pth. Or did I buy a tractor that has more than typical wear on it? Around 380 hours on it.

Chris

Nice Rock! Heck, she can handle a bigger one that that. This one was a bit of a struggle with all that weight out front.

Do the hydraulics on your tractors creep?

Just curious what is normal for these little guys.

Yes, and it is not uncommon.

Pushing your luck doing this kind of stuff, you will likely increase the amount of leakage.

You might want to keep an eye on those hoses on the joystick valve bank...especially if you're pushing the limits...they are pointing right at your face and the factory hoses are junk. I've replaced all of my hoses with Dayco and also placed protective sleeving over any potential trouble spots (to protect me, not the hoses).

One problem is, some people are surely going far beyond the original intended design/purpose for these.

I have not had to replace any hoses....yet. But, I don't really try to find out what the failure point is when I use it.

Sally's dad: How much did a full set of Dayco hoses cost?

Some of the rocks in the photos would definitely have my relief valve screaming...I don't take it that far. The problem with the hoses on mine were more related to UV degradation instead of abuse...tractor spends a lot of time mowing in the summer months using the MMM and a Swisher 60" offset maintaining about 5-6 of my 25 acres (the rest is wooded and pature/hayfields). I'm not sure of the total cost to replace all of the hoses at one time as I replaced most one at a time when they began showing degradation signs and I reached a point where I no longer trusted them...they are expensive...I've been paying $3.19 p/ft. for Dayco E-Z Flex 1/4" I.D. 5,000 PSI...the O.D. is slightly larger and have a much higher quality jacket. Crimped on JIC's are $4.27 each and crimped on FIP's are $3.79 each. I'm basing this on the last receipt I found for a 4' hose which had an itemized breakdown. I can tell you that Dayco hoses I installed 5 years ago still look new (when clean, of course). The steep bend near the fittings on the loader valve are especially vulnerable. Anywhere the factory hoses where protected from sunlight still looked pretty good, unfortunately most of them terminated outside on the tractor or loader boom at some point and the jackets were becoming brittle, so eventually all were changed out. My tractor is stored inside but spends a lot of time working outdoors. First year I had it (2004) I used it to excavate, dig footers and put in drainage for a new shop (36' x 42') and also added another 2 car garage behind the house for the boat and one of my old Fords (28' x 32'), so it spends it fair amount of time outdoors.

I also have a Swisher 60" and a mmm on the GC2300. I'm looking forward to cutting!

The heavier the weight and the hotter the oil the faster the creep. It's normal.
