GC2300 rear blade

Hi all,

Looking at a Midwest brand 60" (RB22) blade fro my GC2300. Need for snow/gravel in driveway, as well as cutting bench cuts in hills for a jogging trail in my woods.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Chiege, Well it looks as if it does it all tilt,angle, slides.....Seems that it would do the gravel & snow well, It probaably will do the other tasks mentioned but not as good as a loader.... Just take longer , Look at it this way more seat time /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I assume you don't have a loader...

You will probably find that you won't use the tilt or the slide part much...So why pay for it, For general blade work you could check King kutter if its in your area, There fairly reasonable as well and pretty durable depending on if you use or abuse your equipment.... Question how do you like the 20 series blade from midwest? That might just be what you need ,unless you have some sharp grading to do then I would consider the 22 series /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif something to think about.

Hello Nasty,

I do have a FEL, my bio was supposed to have that, but it must have gotten erased. Anyway, I think a tooth bar will be in my future.

I still want a back blade with tilt and all of the features. It will help in some ways that my loader won't. It will also be much needed weight on the rear. My land is typical for SE Ohio -HILLS (That's why the tilt will come in handy).

I put a Kioti RB22-60 rear blade on my Kubota BX23 and I think it works great. The Kioti RB22-60 is made by Midwest for Kioti - only reason I got the Kioti instead of the Midwest is because I wanted one in orange to match the tractor. The one problem I did have however is that that the 3pt on the BX would not lift the blade high enough to get it off the ground - I had to make some custom lower brackets to lower the mounting point and then redrill the upper 3pt mount frame to lower that mounting point and then the BX 3pt lifted the blade more than high enough. Since the GC2300 3pt probably has pretty much the same lifting capacity as the BX 3pt you might also have to do this mod. Even with having to do this mod I would highly recommend the Midwest blade - because it has the swivel, tilt, and offset - and also because after looking at a bunch of rear blades I think it has the best combination of features, is the best built, and it is also one of the heavier blades in this size. I will post some pictures of my blade mods so you can see how it worked.
