Oil & Fuel GC2300 -Hydraulic Oil plug

INTERNAL THREAD FOR THE HYDRAILIC OIL PLUG HAS SHEARED. I AM LOOKING TO INSERT A TREAD COIL AND USE THE SAME PLUG. COULD SOMEONE ASSIST WITH THE SIZE OF THE THREAD ? IS THIS METRIC ?

Assuming you're talking about the transmission drain plug, I can't help you-- no indication of size in owner's manual or service manual, except for my own notation of using a 19mm wrench on the plug-- which is also a 3/4" wrench size, so that doesn't help....

Bolts & such on the tractor are said to be metric, but I've a feeling that not all are. I think you're going to have to contact the dealer on that one. Sorry!

If It was me ?? I'd get a standard tap just a bit bigger then the old hole and rethread it for a bit larger plug.Being it Aluminum or cast won't make any difference.Just make sure you have enough heavy material around the plug hole to do this.Shouldn't be too big of a problem. :thumbsup:Larry

thanks for your assistance so far. I have a parts manual for this tractor, and suprisingly the tread size for the engine sump plug is noted as 1.5 but there is no mention of the size on the transmission plug. I am just wondering if the size is the same
