Does anyone have an idea of just how much of a slope the GC2300 w/ empty FEL will handle before she rolls? I have a few slight slopes I want to get across but as I start into them it just seems like it's gonna roll over. These are minor slopes that you hardly notice if you're walking.

I go across some slopes at about 20 degrees and have not had a problem. But I have a BH for weight on the back. I even swing the BH for counterbalance on the steeper stuff if I have to go across it. What are you using for weight on the back of the tractor? When I don't have the BH on I have to be much more careful where I go and what I can do because of not having enough weight on the rear. Just be careful because you DO NOT want to find the true limit. Also keep the FEL as low as you can.

Normally I have either a 4' Lands Pride box blade on the rear or I'm towing a fairly heavy older model 31T wood splitter. These are not big areas, just a few low spots in the lawn that I simply cannot avoid going across without getting either the left or right wheels in the low part. To look at them you'd say no problem - anything will go over those. But it's a different story when you're in the seat and you feel the whole thing start to lean.

I was just working a bank yesterday with my CG2600 FEL. I went to check the angle. It was 15 deg (16" in 48" drop). I didn't feel safe so I stopped side hilling it although it did it no problem. My tires are loaded and I had my Mower deck attached. I would think you'll be fine at half this angle without tire ballast. Keep you FEL low

I can't give you a precise angle, but I can say that after I filled my rear tires with Rimguard, my GC2400 became much more stable.

When I was mowing today and had my inclinometer with me, I took some pictures where I take mine without swinging the BH for counterbalance. It helps having weight on the rear axle for stability.

tx2310-- OK, where'd ya get it? Interesting device; I've often wondered what my personal "pucker factor" limit is....

Lol, he said "pucker factor" :)

I have had it for years. I believe I got it from Home Depot it comes as a 24" level and you can remove the torpedo. Now you can get a app. for your smart phone to do the same thing.

When I first got my 2300, I parked it on a side hill where I was just starting to feel uncomfortable. I got off it, got a friend, and then we both pulled on the roll bar to see how easy it would be to roll. Be careful if you try this, because it would be easy to roll the tractor onto yourself.

Bottom line was that it was easy to get a rear wheel to lift, but we never got the front wheel (uphill side) to lift and we were rocking the tractor pretty hard. This experiment convinced me that this particular side hill was more than safe to navigate.

I've been on some much steeper ones since. The tractor won't track in a straight line on them (back end is sliding down). It was a bit scary. But the slight angle uphill gives some stability. I suppose I should be more scared if the back end isn't sliding down a bit? I used to mow this side hill with a light JD riding mower all of the time, but I would ride with one "cheek" on the seat and the other off, and lean big time. I don't feel like I can lean that much with the MF - particulary with the seat belt on.
