MASSEY GC2310
I changed the fuel filter to eliminate the "missing problem". It ran fine for 15 minites. The it started to miss again. But in Neutral it would stop. So I was finishing my task and it quit all together. Put in nuetral - started fine...ran a little and stated to act up again. It seem to have same effect as when you get off the seat while still in low or high gear range. I tilted the seat up and found plastic switch was loose - where it fits into the seat. So I wiggled it some. Tractor started fine in Neutral......but when I put it in gear engine shuts off immediately. So tommorow I will attemp to bypass the seat switch(temporarily...of course) to see if will start and stay running when put in low or high range. Has any one else had seat switch problems???????

Not with the Massey, ( although every time i lean slightly in my seat to look at the bucket angle, the switch activates.... ! ) but my JD seat switch was a pain. I know it is safety a function and with a gas engine it may not be a big deal to have the engine shutoff ( at high revs or not ) but being my new Massey is Diesel, I am going to forgo the possible safety function and safe my engine !! ( Not good for a running/hot Diesel to all of a sudden shutoff, hense why you let it cool off before you hit the kill switch.... of course somebody can correct me if I am wrong.... :D ) So mine is bypassed.....

I agree with the switch being a pain when I lean too much the switch activates also. The other issue weighing in at 145 pounds a slight bump will bounce me enough to activate the switch. This is a real pain while trying to get from one area to another. I still have my switch hooked up for safety reasons however it will evetualy be disconnected if it keeps agravating me.

After 70 hours on the mighty 2310 this is my only real complaint.

Other than the switch being too sensitive as previously mentioned, I haven't had any problems with it. Mine is a 2005 with about 85 hrs on it. When did you notice the engine missing, how many hrs that is?

Replaced under warranty at 36 hrs. It was replaced during a dealer service call for loss of hydraulics in December. I didn't get a chance to look at the old part but assume that it may have been corrosion in the switch. The seat foam absorbs quite a bit of water if left outside, more noticable during winter.

Seat switch was bad. Right now I put a jumper across to use the tractor. Good thing......even with jumper you can't start it without being in neutral. Bad part is you can get off the seat while engine is running and in high or low range - but the hydro pedal goes into a neutral position when your off the seat anyways. (I DON'T see much harm). Dealer ordered a new switch (under warranty) last Thursday and called this morning and told me the new one came in. Thanks for all the advice......Tractor has 130 hours. The problem was noticed this spring and gradually got worse..............

The part number is 4264775M91. When first got our GC2310 the seat foam had a lot moisture in it. I think our tractor sat outside for a while at the dealers lot. Maybe the moisture damaged the switch???
