On the point of no control going down a slope, drop the bucket, she'll stop pretty quick. On the counterweight, if you have access to old lead wheel weights, either as they are or melted down, lead is a great weight medium in a small package. Did a post in the build it section. Ammo boxes come in all manner of sizes.
