Massey Ferguson GC 2400
Yesterday I traded for a Massey Ferguson GC 2400 and dealership loaded to my trailer. Last night on my return home and I unloaded the tractor it was very slow. Noticed the cruise control was on number one and then returned to 0. Today I took for a ride and it seems top speed in 1st is about 3 miles per hour and 7 miles in high. I know according to specs thatthe tractor should be three times faster in first and twice as fast in 2nd. I suspect a hose blocked and or it may need a new filter for trans and possibly more attention than I may have gotten into. Any advice would be appreciated to its remedy! Thanks

Nothing happens when you push the orange throttle lever forward? RPMs and engine doesn't rev?

Is the parking brake engaged?

Are you sure your range selector is in high range.

Oops, missed the part of your post about 7 mph in high.

According to Massey Ferguson, the top speed is 14.7 km/h which is 9.1mph. I think you may have misread the specs.

Guys I appreciate the answers but please be advised that I have been driving tractors for almost 50 years and a heavy construction operator. I am in high gear when the selector is pushed all the way forward and if not then it would be in neutral. I beleive thatthe oil has not been chaanged and the transmission filter may be plugged and not allowing the oil to fluid freely. I will update when I have changed the oil and filter. I said about 7 but it is not even that fast. Grandson can walk along it and not breack into a run or jog.

p.s. I am not picking on you guys I know your trying your best to help, and I apprecaite it as noted

answered all post I received when I said parking brake is not on and rpms ar above 2600 rpms. Meaning the tractor is a full rpm's recommended by manufacturer even though I can go into the red zone. Answered both Mace and pixguy at the same time.
