GC 1705, is there an easy fix or adjustment? Pto starts slipping when machine is hot, hydraulic oil is at the proper level, engine rpms do not drop, just the pto slows/stops turning. Either with rear PTO or mid mount

I believe the GC series have a hydraulic operated PTO clutch so first thing I would do is find out how to check the PTO hydraulic pressure since the pressure may drop as oil heats up due to thinner oil will leak more through the same size leak path.

The service manual should describe this procedure on where and how to check this pressure.

@kennyd of Ken's Bolt on Hooks fame, I believe sells a pressure gauge with the hose and fittings to fit ... That's where I got mine ... It plugs into a loader line ...

Book calls for 1920 psi IIRC ... For my GC 1725 MB.

If you don't have a loader, either Kenny or @dicktill may have a suggestion where to plug into the system ...

@oldnslo is correct, the GC's have a hydraulic operated PTO clutch buried in the transaxle. Description of its operation here: How Massey Ferguson GC 1723 & 1725 hydraulics are plumbed

I agree with the suggestion to check the hydraulic pressure first; please report back what you find.

Is the 1920 PSI for implement like loader or PTO? I believe PTO operating pressure is much lower like 200 - 300 PSI range but not certain on the GC series.

I was thinking this afternoon as I was driving along ... Is it just the PTO? Or does all the hydraulic's suffer?

While I'm not a hydraulic's wizard, I'd also check a few more things ... When was the hydraulic fluid last changed? If you did it yourself, did you also clean the screen shown below? (I have 3" wheel spacers, so I don't need to remove the left wheel to get to this ...) does the fluid look clear or milky in the sight glass?

"IF" the fluid is "hot" as in hotter than normal, of course there is no gauge on it, but there is a little fan underneath to assist in cooling ... If you have been running in brush or sticks, it's possible to have broken the fan blades off ... The fan is located on the left side as you are sitting on the tractor, up above the mid PTO shaft outlet on the transmission ...

I recommend you add the RetailREMS Sentinel guard for protection,
