gator starter

I have a HPX diesel Gator. Sometimes the starter does not engage, it just whirrs as if the starter has not engaged the flywheel. What is the problem or cure? Any ideas please.

It sounds like the starter solenoid is not kicking the drive out far enough. Could be bad starter, or low battery voltage. Check the battery and all the connections including grounds and try again. Then it would likely be bad starter.
