Finally got three whole pictures of my new Gator posted in the photo section!!! I will try to post more (once I get them taken). I will also place this in the ATV/UTV forum, but thought fellow John Deere folks may like them. Thanks.

Well, on second thought, I decided not to post in the ATV/UTV forum because I did not wish to circumvent any forum rules, so this will be the only post. Thanks for looking.

You can buy gators online now from JD. THats how mass produced they have become.

I don't think you can buy all the models online, only the smaller ones.

Could you please provide the link so we can find them without having to search all over the place?

Thank you for doing that. I am still learning on this picture thing. I realize only one view (these pictures were not taken by me, but by my dealer) but what do you think?? So far I have been very happy with this machine. There are some visible and invisible modifications that have really helped performance. I have already winched out a pretty big tree that had died with the winch, and it pulls my heavy utility trailer around easily. (Don't tell John Deere--it is a good bit heavier than their recommended towing limit). Yes, the compact series can now be bought on line. This is good, but those machines really are meant to toodle around and do very light work. I will be using mine to plow the road in front of the homestead and doing some heavier utility type work, so I need the larger machine, which is only dealer sold--at least at this time.

John,

I've got a Kawasaki Mule much like the Gator. These utility vehicles are the perfect cross between a ATV and a pickup truck. I use mine for a thousand chores, plowing snow, hauling a pull-behind rotary mower into places a tractor won't go, cutting firewood, carrying and mounting heavy cameras equipment where I want it, and just plain transport to the far reaches of my property when I am too lazy or don't have the time to walk. I love it and can't imagine getting along without it.

I know you are going to enjoy the Gator.

Andrew,

The Kawasaki Mule is the name of a kind of utility ATV.

http://www.kawasaki.com/product_detail.asp?product=96&tag=utility

With the Mule I go places that are too narrow, too steep, or don't have enough headroom for a tractor. I've got 100 acres of timber with ravines and hillsides that haven't been touched for years. I'm pioneering trails through them and cutting wood. With the Kawasaki Mule, I can always winch myself out of a tough spot, I wouldn't risk going with a tractor.

I just got a smaller tractor, a JD 3720. It will go more places than I could go before, but still won't keep up with the Mule.
