I just installed mine this week and havent had a chance to use them yet.. But obviosly since I bought them I am expecting to love them..

From reading post last summer, it seems some ppl say they are the best thing they ever bought, and some say they didnt do anything different than the standard blades..

Ill let you know next week when I mow for the first time

Great, thanks. I wonder if they work better if you have a mulch kit installed.

I am hoping you dont need the mulching kit.. That thing is sorta expensive IMHO... IIRC a lot of ppl said the blades did alright all by themselves..

With the rain we are getting today, and im traveling monday and tuesday.. I will need to either mow Tuesday or Wed, so Ill let you know what I think

I put a set on my old mower (325 with a 48" deck.), and they made a world of difference when your mowing wet grass.. I just installed some on my 62D, I have only had the chance to mow with them one time since then. They seem to preform them same as they did on the 48" deck. One of my yards that I mow was very wet, and I had no issues with it plugging up my MCS. This is the main difference that I have noticed, they preform much better than standard blades in wet grass.

I got them for under $50, well worth it, expecailly if your using a MCS...There a lot thicker than the JD blades, and I think they stay sharper for longer.. And no you don't need a mulching kit..

One other thing, when you change your blades spray your deck with some silicon spay.. These helps keep the grass from sticking to the deck..

I installed a pair on my 48" deck with a mulching kit. One of the blades contacted the plastic mulching kit and I had to grind down the tips of the teeth on the top of that blade about a 1/4". I still have my orginal blades and I swap back and forth as one set wears. I haven't really noticed a difference in performance, but I can say the Gator blades are heavy and cost less than the Deere blades.

I have used them for two summers on my 62D. I agree with Roger H, they are heavier and cost less than the JD stock blades.
I have been very pleased with the gators. I do not sweep or bag the clippings when I mow. The clippings are much finer and windrow less than with standard blades. Although I try to avoid mowing wet grass, I have found less build-up under the deck with the gators. I have had no interference problems.

Mowed for the first time today with the new gator blades.. My unscientific analysis (ie just watching the grass clipping shoot out the side of the mower) the clippings appear to be much smaller/finer than the standard blades..
