gator blades for a 1046??

I've got a CC 1046 (the one with the Command engine instead of the Courage). It's about a year old.
It's time to replace the factory blades, but I can't seem to find any blades other than the OEM's (which I'm not impressed with) to fit it.
I wanted to try the Gator's but nobody seems to have the replacement set for these.

The original part #s are 742-04015 (2 of these) and
742-04016 (1 of these)

Has anyone ever found anything other than the stock blades for this mower?

i have a lt 1042 and i have ran into the same thing. no other blades but the oem ones. i would like to know where to get the gators to.

This subject has come up before. If you want to take the time to search through the threads some thing can be found. There has been references made to a firm that sells them on line. Try a google search for gator blades. I don't know about the 1000 series mowers but for my 3200 the local lawn mower shop was able to order them.

Thanks, but I've already done that. It's really surprising. I've called at least 4 different companies and they all say the same thing. The only thing available are the OEM blades from CC.
I was hoping that maybe someone might know of something or someone I might have missed.

check the specs out on these. 46"CUT MTD GATOR MULCHER BLADE SET(3)BLADES 1997& AFTER - (eBay item 270078923445 end time Nov-08-07 14:06:24 PST) i found a set for my 1042 from here that i think will work.

Unfortunately, those are the "star" hole types and my blades have a round hole.
Still, I appreciate the pointer and I'll be checking out the guys other stuff.
Apparently he has some sort of parts store.

I talked to Oregon blades and they do not make them.. I will be looking for them also and my new 1046 is due in next week. I hope to be able to just take them off and match them up to something.....
