Spent last week at Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. This was the 1st time I'd been there since probably 1968-1970 when I was 10-12 yrs old. Weird thing is, I could see Gatlinburg as it was back then until I saw it this past week. Now, I can't see the old version any more; and I MISS IT!! I much preferred it back then. Yeah, it was a tourist trap but at least it was still small and quaint. Now, it's so corporate that it's sickening. And the traffic and crowds were UNBELIEVABLE!!! I don't expect to go back again for another 40 yrs.

Awesome pics. Me and the wife would go to Pigeon Forge twice a year for the Rod Run (April and September) when we lived in North Georgia. Loved the views going up Hwy 441. Thanks for sharing the pics.

We used to go yearly in September for the fall rod run but due to financial reasons haven't been in several years. That place is so buisy you have to book a room 8 months or better in advance to go... Love the area and the view from the top of the mountains at dawn or dusk!!!
