Gasket material on hydraulic filter on 1720???

Gasket like material found clogging filter when changing hydraulic filter on 1720???

Anyone ever find what looks like thin broken up pieces of gasket clogging the filter when changing the hydraulic filter on your Ford 20 series tractor??? What could it be from? most everything works. The brakes are low but there's adjustment....

I've have trac phone.. It looks like thin flat pieces of gasket material all broken up jammed into the ports of the hydraulic filter. The hydraulic oil and filter were changed. The FEL and 3 pt hitch seem to work at full power.... I'm worried about what might be coming apart in the system.... Any thoughts on what could be going on would be greatly appreciated....

My only guess would be someone took off a cover plate somewhere and some gasket material fell in and they either did not see it or could not get it and it ended up in the filter. If everything works fine I would just check the filter every once in a while for more pieces.

I had that thought as well... Bought it new in 92 it's never been opened up... the last time I had the filter changed it was dirty but not clogged with pieces of what looks like gasket material.... I've ordered 2 new filters and will keep watch on things.... Thanks for the reply!!

Could it be brake shoe that's wore thin?? My land is hilly....

I'm not sure if the 20 series has wet brakes.

It's my understanding that it does... but I've got no idea what they look like. Shoe or disc???
