I just replaced the front shocks on my truck, it made the ride much better, and I'm sure when I replace the rear ones, it will help more. When shocks were hydraulic, it seems like when they got old, the truck got softer and bounced more. With gas shocks, it seems like when they get old, they get stiffer and make the ride harsh.

Mine were original, about 10 years old, and the truck has 120,000 miles on it. Even though it's a 3/4 ton, I was just sure the ride wasn't right. Anybody else find the ride gets stiffer when their shocks get old.

I have an 07 with about 77,000 miles on it and have been thinking about replacing the shocks but haven't done it yet. What shocks did you go with, I was thinking about Bilstiens?

I went with KYB's. They were actually the cheapest at the local parts store. The front ones were a pain to replace. I spent 6 hours replacing them. There is a 3 legged bracket on the top and I broke the stud off when taking it off. I then had to drill it out and replace it with a bolt and to do that I had to pull the battery trays to get at it.

Bilsteins are suppose to be really nice and they make some adjustable ones that are suppose to be nice.

On the dodge site they talk about Bilsteins. I may try them when I replace mine. My 07 Tundra came with Bilsteins

my full size ford E350 is known to eat shocks. forums all highly recommend Bilsteins only. Many have reported not useing them and going with the much less expensive verions only to have them fail in 6 months to a year.

I bit the bullet and went with the Bilsteins on mine. Didnt make it ride like my BMW but its about 100% better than what it was.

I put Bilsteins on my F250 about 40k miles ago and couldn't be happier.
