HOW CAN GAS GET INTO THE OIL. MY TRACTOR WOULD START THIS WEEK. WE CHECKED EVERYTHING (BATTERY, CONNECTION ETC.) THEN WE CHECKED THE OIL. IT WAS OVER FULL SO WE DRAINED IT AND IT SMELLED OF GAS. DID YOU EVER HERE OF THAT?
Welcome to TBN
Yes. Flooding the engine,(by constantly trying to start an engine, and using the choke which introduces more gas) will cause excess gas in the cylinders which will drain past the rings into the crankcase. Some engines with a manual pump can cause gas to bypass seals and go into the crankcase.
But please kill the 'caps lock' on your keyboard..............typing in all caps means that you are yelling at us...........and we ain't done anything to make you mad...........yet![]()
