That's funny. What sense of humor it must have taken to think of and do that.

Lions however are not funny.

I thought of making a snarky/humorous remark about 'mountain' lions being in Kansas... but before I did I Googled a topographic map of the State. The East is quite hilly.

Has "The Wizard of Oz" been fibbing to me all these many years?

The real Mountain lions were sppoted in IA. My son with few partner hunt several thousand acres of land in south IA near Chariton. They had several trail cameras on the property and have a picture of mountain lion.
I have also several cameras at few places on my small 80 ac. So far they captured only lots of deer, turkeys and raccoons, few cats, fox, coyote and bobcat.

To give a serious answer to the original question, the trail cam was put out in an attempt to get a pic of a mountain lion that is/was in the area and people started having fun with it as the odds of getting a mountain lion pic are pretty slim. The camera was sparked by two teenagers who, while out raccoon hunting, treed a mountain lion in Waubansee County. Actually their dog treed it and they ran up excited to get a raccoon and found a big kitty instead. They took video and called family and friends to come and see the big cat. After about 45 minutes, the lion seemed to get agitated so they left. Probably a wise decision.
