Today was the changeover day for me, I called it the summer winter hookup :D . The leaves have been mulched, raked, dragged, bagged, blown, and composted. No more grass cutting this year. I removed the mower deck, and attached the rear blade. All summer equipment was crunched into the back of the garage: mower deck, weed eaters, trim mowers, walk behind, etc. Winter stuff, front and center. Snow blower comes out of the corner and into the ready position. I'm not going to wait till the first big storm like I did last year. Next up, servicing the snow blower BEFORE it snows!

I did the same thing today. Mower deck came off and got thoroughly cleaned, lubricated and the blades sharpened. I put it away until spring. I got the snow blower down off the rack and I mounted the hitch assembly to the front of the tractor. I usually mount the blower at the same time but thought I might want to use the FEL one more time so I left it off but ready to go. It only takes 5 minutes to attach. The deck chairs were put up on the rack where the snowblower once sat. I still have way too much outdoor stuff to gather up and store.

Oh, the time to service the snowblower is in the spring before you store it. :)

You are right 755, although I generally wait at least until wait until we have a forcast for a major storm before I check the snowblower. Nothing like the adrenaline rush of a snowblower problem just as the first flakes are coming down!

It all depends upon your latitude. Here in the Mojave, it's finally cool enough to start those outside projects (it's only been in the 90's this week). I did have to cover the evaporative cooler because we don't need it below 90.

Love the "winter".

Yesterday, after mowing the 1.1 acre lawn for the last time, I:
dropped the mower deck and attached the brush hog.
Brush hogged the garden.
Dropped the brush hog.
Mounted the small bucket.
Dropped it in the driveway.
Mounted the large bucket.
Dropped it in the driveway.
Mounted the forks.
Dropped them in the driveway.
Mounted the snow plow.
Dropped it in the driveway.
Swapped the solid tires off the brush hog and mounted them on the snow plow.
Mounted the brush hog.
Dropped it in the back of the garage.
Mounted the finish mower.
Dropped it in the garage.
Mounted the large bucket.
Picked up the small bucket with the large bucket.
Tossed the forks in the small bucket.
Dropped those in the garage.
Mounted the snow plow.
Filled my fuel tanks with treated gas.
Backed the tractor into the garage with the blade pointing out.

Took about an hour. MAN! I love that quick attach feature!!! :D

I have a 3/4 ton Chevy P/U and a couple F-450's with dump bodies and snowplows, my Deere with FEL and rear blade along with an IH medium duty with dump body and my IH bulldozer with a 10' blade to get through drifts. I can push it, plow it load it and dump it. I think I'll be OK. ;)

I keep the P/U and big dump truck at my office and everything else at the farm. I have the dozer in the barn and the Deere backed in just inside one door. I keep the two F-450's backed inside another doore. If I can't plow my way out of one doore or dig my way out the other with the Deere, I'll move it inside the barn and get the dozer to push through. If that doesn't get through I'll call it the will of God that I leave that snow there for a while. :D
