- Mahindra 2415 TLB 1967 Holder AG3, articulated 4wd
Well now that Ive finished my garage, I thought you guys might be interested in seeing it. I started clearing the footprint for it last year shortly after buying my 2415 Mahindra. I placed all the gravel and compacted it and poured a haunched slab with vabor barrier, rebar and fibermesh. On that I laid one course of block which all cells were filled with concrete. This keeps it off the ground and gives it extra head room inside with 8' stud walls. I used 12 inch wood I joists for the attic floor. These are overspanned by a few feet for actual residential use, but it is just attic space. The overall footprint is 28x40. It got nicknamed the garage-mahal halfway through since it was a little bit fancier and larger than what is "needed". All the exterior trim is Pine that I cut off my property and had sawn into lumber. The shingles are white cedar that I hand dipped myself, something I will never do again. I saved a lot of money but I averaged about and hour a bundle to dip them at over 50 bundles. And about an hour is all you can take at a time and then you have to do something else. The freebies on this job include the side overhead door, three garage door openers, 200 amp sub panel, entry door and Im sure Im forgetting others. All were salvaged from demo jobs. I work for a large general contractor so I used our accounts to get things at good to great prices. I did all the work myself with a few days of help for concrete, framing and roofing from my younger brother. I went with cedar shingles because I wanted to do something different. All I know is that some days seem to be a real dog and others seem to almost fly.
