Does anyone know how many gallons per hour of fuel an FTX 90 or 100 uses when mulching? I know what my ASV uses (around 40 gallons per 8 hr day) when mowing, but looking to compare costs...

what about how many gallons of diesel does an ASV RC-100 when mowing?

thanks

i used a fecon ftx90 and it used about 45-50 per 8hrs. i didnt like the machine at all. it was underpowerd on anything over 3''. then i got a ftx 130 and it was a beast. go over to lawnsite.com and check ouy the picasso services photo's thread if you want some pics and more info.

So how much does the 130 suck down in an 8hr day? Any issues with it?

My FTX-140 will drain the 52 gallon tank in 10 hours. I do not shut down for anything if I don't have to. I even watch how much I drink an do not eat anything to avoid those shutdowns.

5 gal an hour is not bad for a big machine running flat out. I would have thought it a bit more.

The extra power turns a much heavier drum than the small skid machines. The engine does not have to do as much of the work to keep the head turning in the wood. I have learned how to use the momentum of the 1800 lb drum to grind rather than keeping the tractors engine at full power. I still bog it down from time to time but the extra power spools it back up quickly. The 140 has a meter that tells you how much power you are pulling from the engine, when you are not in the wood with the head on it is pulling about 40% when you are using the engine to grind the material it runs over 85%. Long story short the bigger the tractor and the heavier the drum the more efficient your grinder is. I have a Supertrak SK300TR dropping in on me after CONEXPO. Also have a Barko coming for demo as soon as they can get one ready to test. I will let you guys know how it goes...I can hardly contain myself knowing that I got 300hp coming!
