G1800S Front PTO Belts

First. apologies if this issue has been covered fully - I just can't seem to find anything with 'search'. If there IS a discussion - please point me to it!

I am changing the twin pto belts and the new set seems way too short.

I bought a G1800S earlier this year which needed Front PTO Belts from day 1. (It had one when we test drove that immediately shredded). I looked up specs and picked up what I thought was correct from an auto parts store. They were so-so, and had issues dis-engaging and would often continue to spin the blades with the lever off.

So, I ordered what I thought was the correct set. They are labeled: [FONT=&quot]66021-25080 K [/FONT]I removed all of the guards, tensioner, and the jack screw. The belts simply cannot go on. Even if I could work them on; there couldn't be enough slack for them to dis-engage. These are after market belts. I notice that Messick's seems to offer some as well. I can order genuine Kubota one's, but it seems like something else is going on.

What could I be missing?

The tractor's serial number is 012474

Hi Mike, I am facing a similar situation and info on these belts online seem scarce. I bought some ebay belts that was supposed to be direct replacements for the part number you referred to but mine are too short too. I can get them on and they work but when the blade lever is not engaged they seem to grab and want to spin the blades even with the blade brake on and tensioned tight. The best i can tell tell is you need a 5/8" by 33 to 34" belt. The people I bought from are sending me a slightly longer set and I am going to see how they work. Keep ya updated when I get them.

I assume you figured this out. If you need the measurements for it to be adjusted properly (a couple measurements on the spring and engagement cable from handle next to steering) let me know and I will post a picture.
