G154 PTO Seal, and Draw Bar

Hi Guys,

I just had a quick question if anyone has had experience changing their PTO seal. I bought a new seal, and I would like to replace the old one, because I plan on using the PTO a lot more. How complicated is this job, and do you have to drain oil? Also, as you can see, the draw bar attachment below the PTO is orange. Is this the factory draw bar receiver, or was this added. I wonder if it came off of a Kubota, based on the color. I need to find a draw bar that will fit in it,because for certain jobs, it is safer than towing with the 3 point draw bar. Also do they make a cover that will fit over the PTO shaft like you can put over the ball hitch on your truck to help keep it less funktified, if that is a real word? Thanks for the help!

You have to remove the rear cover to replace the seal. You will probably have to drain some oil from the rearend. The OEM hitch is a flat piece of metal bolted to the rear end housing. Don't know of a cover.
